Question by y p: When a kitty is roly poly, how can you get them to eat that diet food?
sometimes cats can be sooo difficult, refusing to eat their prescription diet food. How can we make it more enticing?

Tough love- just give them no option. Here’s the diet food. If you don’t like it, you can go hungry today. I promise that even the most picky kitty will eat even nasty stuff before it starves itself very long!

It is one of those things that cats do. Your roly poly kitty is spoiled. Ofcourse your kitty is waiting for the good stuff. When he is ready, he’ll eat.
If you are really worried. Perhaps mix some of the old with the new. Until he gets use to it.
Open a can of tuna and pour the juice over it. If he doesn’t have a choice he will eat it. It sounds like you give him table scraps and he thinks you will continue if he doesn’t eat his food. And some cats are built big, just like some people are big, but they are not always fat. Did the vet say he was fat?

My roly poly wouldn’t, so with vet’s consent, we are feeding regular food in smaller amounts.
It’s hard to get cats to lose weight and the vet advised it must be done slowly. He’s getting there gradually.

It’s not easy. Cat’s are very picky about what they eat, and usually they hate all this diet food. I never figured out how to get my cat to eat any of the food that was good for them. What I did was just tried to feed them a little less of the food that they would eat. It’s really a waste of time to try and get cats to eat the science diet food that the vets give you to have your cats eat. They just won’t do it.
