Question by Jack Lapidus: Is the new science diet food the same as the original?
I ran out of the old type of the cat food and I’m trying to get my cat to switch to a new food because I’ve recently learned that science diet food is crappy. I was wondering if I bought the new type of the food she’s used to, would she still eat that so I could mix the new food with it?
garnetcobriana- That’s why I’m switching to a new food. I just need to mix the new food so my cat will eat the better food that I’ve already bought her. Didn’t you read the details?

Don’t buy science diet at all. Science diet is crappy, but science diet cat food is even crappier than the dog food. I work at a pet store so I study the quality of pet foods every day. If you want your cat to be happier, healthier, and live longer, switch to a better food pronto.
Royal canin, performatrin, wellness, nutro, are all 1st grade or 2nd grade foods. Waaaay better than what your buying now.
I’m sure there are more, but I only know in depth the types that we carry at the store.

The adult Science Diet dry is the same – they just changed the name and the package.
Science Diet is an excellent food. We have raised dozens of cats on it.
If kitty will eat the new Science diet, I say go for it…I’m pretty sure they haven’t changed the formula too much. I’m glad to hear you are switching her off it!
